Ashridge Estate The National Trust
This project for The National Trust at Ashridge Estate, was for restoring a ancient woodland. A total of 1,600 broadleaf native trees were planted. Over the the last 3 years the National Trust have been carefully removing non native conifers from some of the most inaccessible ancient woodlands. Hbn Trees were contracted in to plant in cluster groups in canopy gaps.

The Woodland Trust
Hbn Trees were contracted to plant 8,700 native broadlead trees in the extension of Tween town woods in Steeple Morden Cambridgshire. Trees were planted in 2 metre spacing in a mix matrix pattern. Larger tree species in the middle with some smaller, then shrubs and shorter species at the edges, this woodland is now open to the public, the new woodland has deer fencing and 4 access gates. The whole project was completed successfully with 2 school classes helping and 1 community day were a whopping 87 volunteers came to help.

Stump Removal
Steeple Morden Parish Council
Hbn Trees were contracted to remove a large scale tree line, due to safety concerns of the age of the trees and where they situated. The second part of the project included Hbn Trees removing 37 large stumps in one day. This has now allowed the area to be prepped and managed to replant.

Tree Surgery at URC Chapel
Ashwell United Reformed Church
Ashwell URC is one of eight churches within North Herts Group of Urc's. Hbn Trees were contracted in to perfrom tree management & pruning on eight Lime trees. These trees have been managed as a pollard on a 7 year pruning scheme. Pollarding is done from early in a trees life, only a few species can be pollarded. Usually these trees are kept like this in a high traffic public area keeping mature trees but keeping a smaller canopy.
